Want to spend less time creating and distributing content for your business? Whilst content marketing is a great way to market your business it relies more on human resources than financial resources – aka it can be massively time-consuming. Whether you are making videos, recording podcast episodes, taking photographs, writing copy or creating graphics the fact is that it can take a considerable amount of time. If you do your marketing yourself then getting some time back will enable you to use that in other areas of the business. If you have someone else doing your marketing then it might allow you to reduce the numbers of hours of support you need. Either way, it is good for business. So keep on reading to find out 5 time-saving tools for content marketing.

7 TIME-SAVING TOOLS FOR CONTENT MARKETING

1. Save time when proofreading copy

Are you someone who spends a long time proofreading and then still worries that you might have made a mistake anyway? If so, you need to check out Grammarly. Grammarly is a spelling and grammar checker that you can install into your browser. This means rather than being limited to the spellchecker of your word processor provider you can rest assured when writing directly online – whether that be for emails, blog posts or captions.

Find out more about Grammarly here.

2. Save time when scheduling content across multiple platforms

If you are creating content for multiple platforms then getting a social media scheduler is a must. Scheduling content even when you are creating content for one social media platform will save you time because it will enable you to create and schedule in batches. This is much more time efficient than creating and posting in real time. However, when you are publishing content on multiple social media platforms then using a scheduler becomes even more of a time-saver.

My social media scheduler of choice is Later. What I love is that you can schedule across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and Instagram and if you want to schedule something across multiple platforms they make it super easy. You can simply choose the platforms you want to post across, then drag the asset (video/image/graphic) onto the selected time. You then have the option to add generic copy and then edit that for each of the platforms selected. This makes it super easy for you to shorten the caption for Twitter’s super small character limit, add in the relevant hashtags depending on the platform and switch a link to ‘link in bio’ for Instagram.

Find out more about Later here.

3. Save time marketing on Pinterest

If you are using Pinterest as a way to market your business and you are still manually pinning your pins then you need to check out Tailwind.

Whilst many other social media schedulers (like Later) will let you schedule to Pinterest as well, Tailwind is far superior. Not only does Tailwind allow you to effortlessly post the pins you’ve created onto multiple boards, but it has a design feature so you can quickly design multiple pins for one piece of content. This is particularly powerful if you are investing in creating long-form content. You can create multiple pins to lead to your YouTube video, blog post or podcast episode and know they’ll continue to generate traffic for months or even years in the future.

4. Save time when publishing short-form videos on multiple platforms

The popularity of short-form videos continued to rise in 2022 and shows no signs of stopping. Short-form videos can now be used as a Facebook Reel, Instagram Reel, TikTok video, Pinterest Idea Pin, in a LinkedIn Post or as YouTube Short. Given the number of places you could repurpose your short-form videos, it is easy to get overwhelmed. Luckily, Repurpose.io has been invented to make life super easy for you.

Repurpose.io is designed to help you publish short-form videos across multiple platforms with ease. You set up Repurpose.io to the platform where you’ll first post the video and then it will automatically download the video without the watermark, can send to a Google Drive or Dropbox, and republish it across the other platforms you’ve chosen. You just have to post once and it can easily be distributed across multiple platforms. This is a great option for getting maximum reach from your short-form videos.

5. Save time when creating short-form videos

As mentioned creating short-form videos is become an increasingly important part of content creation, but it can be time-consuming. CapCut is a great app that allows you to easily edit videos on your phone. There are two main reasons I love using CapCut.

Firstly, CapCut is great if you want to create a video to post across multiple platforms. If you aren’t using Repurpose.io and you want to be able to post a video to multiple platforms CapCut will allow you to easily create a video that can then be posted in several different places. Using this method will also allow you to add the native text of the platform you are posting the video on.

Secondly, CapCut has amazing templates that can make any novice video editor create videos that you’d believe require a lot more skill. And they don’t take a lot of time either.

Here’s an example of a TikTok video I created using a CapCut template. I simply uploaded a video I’d recorded in the mirror and the template added the black beginning and ending, the changes of focus and the flashing lights.

@charellegriffith Who else is ready to party? I love December – Christmas parties, sequins, sparkles, mince pies and hot chocolate with baileys. But it’s so much easier to truly enjoy when you know you’ve taken care of business first. 6. Save time when editing video and audio or transcribing video and audio

Editing and transcribing have both been historically time-consuming tasks and editing also requires having some technical skills. Descript wanted to change all of that.

Descript states it makes editing video and audio as easy as editing a doc. You can upload an audio or video file, it will transcribe and then you directly edit the transcription. If you cut out words from the text they’ll also disappear from your audio or video. Cool right?

Find out more about descript here.

7. Save time when going live across multiple platforms

Personally, I find creating a live video to be much faster than creating a recorded video. Purely because there is no editing to do afterwards. But if you want to take your live video productivity to the next level then check out Streamyard. I first came across Streamyard when I wanted to go live on LinkedIn, but I realised quickly it had massive potential.

Streamyard allows you to go live across multiple platforms simultaneously.  You can add in multiple destinations across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. Then you record your live video in Streamyard and in real-time it will shared to all of the places you’ve selected. This is a great way for you to easily increase the reach of your videos.

Find out more about StreamYard here.
