HOW TO SIMPLIFY YOUR BUSINESS FOR GREATER SUCCESS IN 2025
1. Simplify your offer suite
How many offers are currently available for sale in your business? Write them all down and count how many you have. It is so common, over the years, for an offer suite to grow unnecessarily large. Many service-based businesses will start out with one primary service. Then they’ll start to add others in either through request or purposefully by design. And then all of a sudden you can end up with an offer suite that’s expanded to a point where it is doing your business more harm than good.
With an offer suite, there is a sweet spot. In most cases having only one service means you aren’t able to get repeat clients and so it puts a lot of pressure on you to constantly sign new clients. It also means even if people love working with you they don’t have the ability to work with you again – aka you are missing out on those easy sales. However, on the other side if you have too many offers it can be confusing for people to know what to buy, it makes it harder to optimise client delivery and you’ll likely struggle (or at least overwork) with trying to market all of the offers.
Getting the right size offer suite is key and in an effort to simplify your business for greater success you’ll want to review your offer suite and see if there are any you can let go of. Look back through your sales over the last year and work out what your sales per offer were and how each offer contributed to your overall income. Then look at the profitability of each offer. An offer can bring in a lot of income, but might not be that profitable. Then consider how much you enjoy delivering the offer, as well as the results clients/customers get. Think about how you feel about marketing and selling that offer. Does it take a lot of work or is it fairly easy? And then finally look at how it fits within the whole offer suite. It is something that fits perfectly with other offers so that people can move from one to another. Or does it feel out of place amongst everything else?
Looking at each offer from all of those perspectives will help you to decide which offers can stay and which offers can go from your offer suite.
REFINE YOUR OFFER SUITE AND GET A PERSONALISED MARKETING STRATEGY SO YOU CAN SELL EVERYTHING IN IT
There is no point creating an amazing offer suite, but then not having the marketing strategy to sell it. In a Strategy Day I help you to put a plan together for the upcoming 12 months so you smash your growth, income and / or profit goals. You’ll get my expert eyes on your offer suite, we’ll map out what your sales would need to be to hit your goals, and then create a marketing strategy specifically to hit your sales targets (and ensure your business is positioned to achieve your long-term vision). All you have to do is fill in a questionnaire beforehand and then turn up on the day. I’ll then lead you through the whole process and write everything down – making it super easy for you! |
2. Simplify your technology
Another area in your business that you can simplify for greater success is technology. Technology has made it easier than ever for you to have a small, but mighty, business. Technology has made it so that what used to take a lot of time, and often people, can now be done automatically. However, it is important to ensure you have the right combination.
List out all of the technology you currently use in your business. This can be everything from what you use for marketing, finance, operations, admin and more. Then consider if everything is fit for purpose and whether it is the best combination possible for your business.
An area where it is often easy to simplify tech is to look at all of the free versions of software you are using. Very often using free software can mean you have limited functionality and this means having to use creative workarounds or multiple pieces of software in order to do the thing you want to do? Also with free software there might be limitations on the usage. This could be holding your business back from being able to serve more clients or customers.
Another thing to consider is whether you are using Zapier to connect pieces of software when you could have a piece of software that can do all of those things in one. Technology is changing so fast and if you’ve had your business for a number of years it could be that the solutions you originally decided on made sense at that time, but don’t anymore. For example, when I started my business I had separate software for my email marketing, memberships and checkout. However, since then a number of one-stop-shop solutions for online businesses have been created.
I decided to move everything over to Kartra and haven’t looked back since. Having my email marketing, membership software and checkout all in the same software has not only made my life easier for managing it all, but with the data all being in one place I’ve now been able to gain an even better insights into buyer journeys, conversion rates and more.
You can find out more about how Kartra can streamline your online business here.

Changing technology can seem overwhelming, but there is no doubt that getting the right combination of technology is worth it. There are endless professionals out there that can help with migrating and once it is done having the right technology combination not only will help your business to grow, but will be less stressful for you. Technology doesn’t stay the same so the more tech you use in the business the more things you’ll keep to keep up-to-date with. So less technology will mean if you are looking after it your life is easier. And if you decide to outsource it will make it easier to find someone and they’ll be more efficient. Think about it – is it easier to find someone who has experience using Teachable, ActiveCampaign and ThriveCart or someone with experience in Kartra or Kajabi?
3. Simplify your calendar
If you are actively involved in client / customer delivering in your business then I would highly recommend you simplify your calendar. This is especially important if you have a range of offers. Spending your days switching from one thing to another is not the most effective way to work. And it can make understanding what you are physically available to sell difficult.
Look at your calendar for the last few months and see what changes could be made to simplify. Some things to consider are
- Do you have dedicated times for different areas of the business?
- Have you put similar tasks?
- Can you have a structure around how you run each day, each week or each month?
By trying to get into either a regular routine on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis or by creating bigger blocks for different types of work you are going to make your life easier. Having the clarity over what you are doing when ahead of time will not only enable you to work better in the business, but with your business days more structure it will help you contain the time you spend in the business and give your freedom with the rest of your time to enjoy as you like.
4. Simplify your marketing
It is easy over time, just like with your offer suite, for your marketing to have expanded larger than it needs to be. It is easy to hear someone recommend A and someone recommend B and you add that onto what you were already doing, and now you are doing a lot.
As I shared when discussing simplifying your technology the more you have the more you need to keep up-to-date with and this is especially true with digital marketing. For every marketing channel or platform you decide to use not only do you have to do the necessary marketing, but you’ll have to keep up-to-date. So it really does make sense to keep your marketing as lean as possible, but obviously not so lean you can’t get the desired results.
In order to simplify your marketing for greater success you need to focus on how your marketing is performing and ensure that once you’ve simplified your marketing there is still the right combination of platforms and channels to ensure the buyer journey for each offer can happen.
Simplifying your marketing will enable you to then look to optimise your marketing further, thus fulfilling the aim to simplify your business for greater success.
