3 reasons you might want to use launches in your business

Are you thinking about using launches within your business? Heard about 5-, 6- or even 7- figures launches and want to get in on the action? Well keep on reading as I’m sharing 3 reasons you might want to use launches in your business

When it comes to marketing, I love anything that involves working out how to bring multiple marketing channels together, which is what any good launch would do. As I result people often ask me “Should I be using launches in my business” and whilst launches aren’t the right answer for every business. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider using launches in your business.

1 – Launches create urgency for your audience.

When it comes to the psychology of marketing there are two things that are often mentioned and those are: create a sense of urgency and create a sense of scarcity.

Using launches is a great way to create a sense of urgency because you are bringing something into the world and then providing a deadline of when it will be removed from sales. Normally, giving people a deadline will result in more sales. This is because when something is always available the potential customer can spend time thinking, pondering, researching, reviewing etc. They can tell themselves I will buy it next week, next month or when they can afford it.

Having a deadline means people have to make a decision sooner rather than later and in most cases, it will help you to convert more people.

2 – Launches allow a business owner to concentrate their energy

Some people love having an evergreen business model where what they offer is always open. This could be a service that you can always be hired for or it could be a digital product (course, workbook etc) that is always available. However, this can result in you having to constantly be marketing your business. However, some entrepreneurs prefer to be able to work really hard for a period of time and then having a break. If you are like that then you should definitely consider using launches.

A great example of this can be seen with Marie Forleo and B-School. B-School is Marie’s signature course and it only open for enrolment once a year. Now Marie has a very sophisticated marketing campaign for her launches, which involve a number of video trainings. Now whilst clearly there is a lot of prep before the launch and then has to support the delivery of course content for the next 8 weeks after that she is free to do as she pleases for the rest of the year. So if you like the idea of having an intense period of work, which then the flexibility to really switch off or take breaks then launches could work great for you.

3 – Launches allow you to create a carefully crafted integrated marketing campaign

When it comes to marketing it is essential that you created integrated campaigns so that all of your activity is supporting one another. So often when it comes to ongoing marketing people get obsessed with each channel independently and struggle to bring all of the channels together in a cohesive way. (If you want help making sure your ongoing marketing is integrated then book an intensive strategy day. Full details of the day are available here).

Since a launch is over a limited period it makes it a lot easier for you to create an integrated marketing campaign. You can easily identify the goal of where you are trying to drive people to (sales call, sales page etc) and then ensure every channel is helping to drive traffic in that direction and as well as providing information to help a prospect feel the desire to want to buy from you.
