Digital Women Awards and Conference 2024 - v2

On Wednesday 18th September 2024 I headed into Central London to the gorgeous De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms for the Digital Women Awards and Conference 2024. I was a finalist for 3 awards (Content Marketer, Digital Creator and Digital Woman) so I was excited for a day filled with learning, spending time with other community members and maybe a cherry on the top (aka an award). Keep on reading to find out what happened at the Digital Women Awards and Conference 2024.

The Morning: Digital Women Conference

This year the Digital Women Awards were slightly different to previous years. Rather than just having an awards they decided to add a conference element. This was great as it meant for nominees you had the chance to learn in the morning and get something out of your trip whether you won or not. And it also meant other members of the Digital Women community who weren’t up for an award still had a reason to come and join in the celebrations.

The day kicked off with Erika Robinson from Constant Contact (who were the sponsors of the event). Erika shared her story of building her business PICNIC, the challenges she’d faced building that business, and some lessons she learnt along the way.

Then the fabulous Dani Wallace gave a talk entitled  ‘How to overcome self-sabotage and achieve the success you deserve in her talk, Show Up, Wise Up, Rise Up’. I first saw Dani talk earlier this year at Atomicon 2024 (You can check out my review and takeaway from Atomicon 2024 here) and absolutely loved her energy. Dani is an energetic and engaging speaker who makes you laugh and gets you thinking at the same time. Her talk entwined her own experience of turning her life around and building a successful business with practical tips. And I left with the phrase ‘SUCCESS IS SAFE’ ringing in my ears.

Then there was a Personal Branding Fireside with Xandrina Allday, who is a Social Media Speaker and Author of Dear Social Media Manager. And Claire Hoang shared her career journey at ITV.
